Food Safety Laboratories
To ensure the quality control and food safety, we established a network of food testing laboratories across China with 47 Mini-laboratories. We have set up 4 A-level laboratories in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Shenyang, through cooperation with local research institute and FDA.
Direct Purchase& QR Code
The Direct Purchase of fruits and vegetables from farmers is an innovative project to improve the efficient circulation of agricultural products through modern retail. It provides our consumers with higher quality, safer and lower price food. The program not only benefits the farmers by improving their incomes, but also improves their knowledge of production techniques and management concepts.
To reinforce food safety management, we have developed QR code to be used on all direct purchased fruits and vegetables. The customers can use their mobile phone to get direct purchase traceability information on these direct purchased fruits and vegetables.
Carrefour China has launched an Energy Saving Project and is committed to supporting environmentally sustainable development. Up to the end of 2013, energy consumption was reduced by 13.7% KWh/store in comparison to 2008. (2013 vs. 2009 -9.9%).
